Many thanks to everyone who
came to the 2009 Annual Membership meeting this past Sunday evening.
We had a very productive meeting, and we got a lot of great input from
the members present. As you know from the agenda that we sent
out prior to the meeting, three important votes took place this past
Sunday:
1)
The 2010
Board of Directors was elected.
2)
The clubhouse
master plan was presented and approved, including the financial details
appertaining to this project.
3)
The
By-law changes
were approved.
Details of the meeting have been posted to this site, including:
I would also like to take this opportunity to go into
more detail about the financial impact the clubhouse project will have
on our membership. The membership approved a $500 clubhouse assessment
that can be paid over two years. The Board also decided to increase
the membership dues by $150 annually, totaling $600 per year.
The Board understands that in the present economic time this might be
difficult to absorb into family budgets. As a result, the Board
is considering allowing some flexibility in the number and ways to make
these payments. More information will be forthcoming about these
options. As each family considers this impact to the family budget,
it should be noted that when the $150 dues increase is considered within
a monthly budget, the increase is $12.50 per month. The assessment
over two years is an increase of $21.00 per month. As you will
be able to see from the documents posted on the website, these increases
keep Windyrush very competitive with other clubs in our area that share
similar facilities and programs as well as with clubs that offer fewer
programs and lesser facilities.
In closing, 2010 looks to be another very exciting
year for Windyrush Country Club! As you consider all of this information,
please remember that we are making an investment in the future of our
club. As we celebrate the club’s 40th birthday
, we hope that this clubhouse project will kick off at least another
forty wonderful years at Windyrush!
Sincerely,
Bob Stone
President
Windyrush Country Club
